See, this post is not about my insecurity. I’m a big kid. What I remembered today is that everyone needs a little acknowledgement and validation every now and then. I’m a grown man that’s actually well adjusted and self-confident; but what about my students? The great part about the flipped model of instruction is that we have face to face time every day. I plan on making a greater effort to just listen to my students – to acknowledge they exist and are valuable human beings. I can lay off assessing and judging and cramming content a little bit and just talk to them. They are growing up and have a ton of pressure and stress. Maybe they just need someone to let them know they are being heard. How many of my students just need someone to take a few minutes and pay attention to them?
Thanks PLN. Twitter has a way of making me think even when no one says anything.
