Bwaahaaahahahahahaha… I must have been crazy.
Let’s just say the lesson didn’t pan out the way I had planned. There was carnage and exploded gray matter everywhere. The good news; if cognitive dissonance causes new neural connections, my students will be 10 IQ points brighter tomorrow.
I tell you all this just so you know you are not the only teacher that has had that “Teacher of the Year” lesson fail.
Tomorrow I will re-group. I think the fundamental concept I have is sound. I just need to re-work things a bit a bunch. I will take a little more time explaining what my expectations are. Spend more time allowing the students to grasp what they need to do.
Give them time to think.
Give them time to collaborate.
Give them time to explore.
This lesson my yet rise from the ashes like a Phoenix and be awesome. After all, I have awesome kids.
